Safety Procedures and Visitors to School
Your child’s safety is very important to us. All visitors must report to the office to sign in and pick up a visitor badge. Visitors must provide a government issued photo ID, which is left in the office until the visitor returns the visitor badge at the end of their visit.
Fire Drills are held at least once a month.
Bus evacuation drills and tornado drills are held at least once a year.
Weapons are not allowed in school. Students found in possession of a weapon as defined by the Code of Virginia may be subject to criminal prosecution and/or expulsion.
Toys and games are also considered inappropriate for school unless requested by the teacher for a particular purpose. Students are not allowed to bring balls, radios, video games and cards, etc. to school. Students should not bring items to school to sell for various fund-raising activities. The school is not responsible for lost items or money. Repeated requests to leave inappropriate items at home will require administrative intervention.
Pets are not allowed in school. If your child wants to share a pet with his/her class, please contact the teacher for special regulations regarding pets. Cats, dogs and other pets visiting our school for this purpose must have proof of rabies and adequate shot vaccinations. Parents are required to accompany such pets in order to monitor them during any presentation.
